Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised at work — my colleagues did a little “congratulations on your pregnancy” party for me. They caught me completely by surprise — I was called to participate in an emergency team meeting, and did not even notice a decorated table at the end of the conference room with a “baby” balloon, flowers and a cake at first.
I got a couple of gift certificates, and the whole office spent 30-40 minutes in the conference room chatting and eating ice-cream cake. It was certainly a very nice gesture, and again — I did not remotely expect anything like this. It was funny to be in the room full of guys (there was just one other women, Yvette, except for me) and talk about pregnancy, birth and babies.

Респект и уважуха американским парням, наши бы смущённо топтались в уголке (в лучшем случае), а в худшем пошли бы пить пиво в курилку .
