I finished editing the footage from our New Year 2008 celebration. I figured I’d post it here. I’m sure it’s going to be boring for most of our visitors, but I just want to give the link to my parents.

A little bit more then a week is left in the year 2007. We’re making ourselves a holiday. We put up Christmas lights all over our living room a week ago and put up all kinds of New Year stuff around our apartment.

Yesterday we went out and bought a Christmas Tree for $50. Since this is our first New Year in our new home we wanted to get a real one. As always it really adds to the spirit of holidays with its look and especially smell.

Today we had a nice evening with friends. Lenchik, Alex and Maruks came over. We ate a small dinner and sat and talked for hours. For tomorrow Alena is cooking a Christmas dinner. We should remember to take some pictures.

Комната получилась очень милой. Думаю, очень уютно сидеть в ней по вечерам и не только.

Mike, thank you for the nice comment.

The only time I played poker was with my friends. We played by the rules which we partially made up ourselves, and I miserably lost.

School is my wife’s thing, not mine.

Photography is just a hobby, which I enjoy a lot, but I’m just an amateur. I’m a software developer and development manager by profession.

This year is almost over and New Year decorations are starting to appear all over the city. I think I’m ready to start getting into the holiday mood as well.

The year 2007 was a great year for us, as the one before. Many things happened, but probably the most important achievement of the year is the acquisition of our own apartment and the fact that our parents have finally took the same step. Yesterday they closed the deal on their own apartment in the same building as ours. A couple of weeks of minor fixes and we’re all hoping that they’ll be celebrating the New Year in their new home.

The lobby of our building is already full of decorations and it always fills me in with a kind of a warm feeling every time I come home. This is one of the main things that we need for complete happiness I think. The warms of the home. And luckily I have plenty of that.

Да, покупка собственного жилья - это очень важная веха. Рада, что вы через это уже прошли, можно расслабиться, потихоньку выплачивать кредит, наводить и наслаждаться домашним уютом.
А мне в следующем году все только предстоит После Нового года сразу и займусь.

А лобби и правда красиво украсили. Там еще и музычка играет рождественская тихонько. Очень уютно.
