В субботу я с Алиной и её мамой ходила на фламенко шоу Tiempo Muerto by the Rafael Amargo Dance Company. Мне ОЧЕНЬ понравилось!!! Это шоу, пожалуй, было интереснее и разнообразнее того, на которое мы ходили в феврале. Вобщем, было очень талантливо, ярко, страстно, с характером и юмором. Вот тут можно посмотреть небольшой кусочек представлeния.

Another one of my little dreams came true last night — we went to see Flamenco Show! The performance that we watched was under the umbrella of 2008 New York City Flamenco Festival and presented Eva Yerbabuena and her latest creation “Wonders and Signs”.Overall I liked the show, although some parts of it were slightly repetitive. Dance which left the greatest impression was in the beginning of the performance and can be seen on YouTube.
What I know after the show is that I really DO like Flamenco — even the specific singing which annoyed Maruks.

I’m glad that Alena enjoyed the show. I liked the first dance as well, but you can see it on YouTube much better then we did from our seats.
However the rest of the performance (the other hour) I was barely staying awake. Almost. Awake that is. 
The pub was surprisingly nice though.

Я вся обзавидовалась. Невероятно. Как они это делают? К нам как-то в студию пришел профессиональный чечеточник, уже в годах, помогать ставить танец с элементами степа. Повторить это было просто невозможно. Было такое впечатление, что его ноги работают отдельно от мозга, т.к. когда его просили показать медленно, у него не получалось. Он буквально показывал 4 такта, а потом его начинало нести и начиналось маленькое шоу. А эмоции? А музыка? Кипение, взрыв, красота!

Да, круто! У нас на диске есть их шоу “Feet of flames” – очень красиво. Я слышала, что ирландской чечетке учатся чуть ли не с пяти лет.

Tonight Alina and I went to Manhattan to attend an event labeled as “Intro to Flamenco Dancing & Spanish Wine Tasting”. We had a really good time!
The whole thing happened in a little dancing studio on the 11th floor on 1261 Broadway Street. Alina found out about the event through the local wine events subscription and offered me to join her because of my love for flamenco. It was hosted by Cony, Kirk and their friend Magdalena — the flamenco dancer. The atmosphere was really friendly with around 30 people present. There were no chairs, and the studio itself was not big at all. Me and Alina were the first guests, and Alina even helped Cony to open some bottles. Continue Reading

К сожалению, по времени совсем не будет получаться (поздно вечером и далеко от дома). 
Ну и лишних 50$ в неделю (за 2 занятия) пока тоже нет (хотя в данном случае неудачное место и время — главные препятствия).
Зато мы взяли билеты на шоу, которое будет проходить в рамках Нью-Йорксого фестиваля фламенко. Как сходим, напишу о впечатлениях.

Посмотрела видео. Я почему-то представляла фламенко как парный танец. Хотя, может, мне так хотелось его видеть?

Ты знаешь, я видела и парами, и тройками, и целыми большими группами. Но всё же, чтобы танцевать фламенко можно легко обойтись без партнёра. Мне кажется, это как раз больше сольный танец.
