While discussing various lenses and lens types with Geoff today the topic of tilt-shift lenses came up again.

Lenses themselves are quite expensive and seeing as it would be just a cool toy to play with from time to time I can’t justify the expense. Adorama, however, has them for rent for as little as $23 for a 3 day weekend.

But since I don’t have one at the moment I went back to the same tool I used last time and processed a bunch of my recent photos from our California trip. What a cool effect it produces. I really need to go and try playing with the real thing though.

You should click on the photographs to see them full size to really appreciate the effect.

да, tilt-shift – классная штука, только надоедает быстро))

Да, я тоже думаю что покупать её смысла никакого нет, unless тебе постоянно надо фотографировать архитектуру. А вот в рент взять точно можно.

Btw, there is an iPhone app to create tilt-shift photos called tiltshiftgen, there is a free lite version, and worth checking out.

I saw it, I have it. It’s all “meh”. Fakeness. And I’m finding doing it correctly in Photoshop is not exactly trivial either. Most tutorials available online are laughable. I think I’m getting pretty close, but I’m still not happy with the results.
