Грибной Супчик

Пару дней назад Даня выразил желание поесть грибного супа. Ну, если муж хочет — значит, надо варить.

Вчера в русском магазине я долго выбирала между 3-мя разными банками сушёных грибов, а в результате купила 2 упаковки грибного супа, которые включали в себя сушёные лесные грибы, перловку, растительные жиры, гидролизированные картофель и морковку, сушёный укроп, соль и чёрный перец. Read more…

Boston for Memorial Day

We booked another trip. A short one this time. The final destination is Boston with a 1 night stop in Providence, RI. Now we’ve been to Boston before, but we didn’t want to waste a 3 day weekend and just sit at home. We’re planning to do a lot of sightseeing and hunt for some National Park Passport stamps on the way.

Jury Duty

I got a notice in the mail a couple of weeks ago that I need to do my civic duty and serve on jury duty. So here I am. I’ve been here for 3 hours already and not much has happened. I don’t really know if I will get selected and how many days total it will take at this point.

I know that because of this our trip to Canada got canceled. I didn’t want to take a day off only to find out that I need to be in court on that date. And 3 days is really not enough for Read more…

Rhode Island and Massachusetts

Наша замечательная традиция куда-нибудь ездить на Memorial Day weekend была воплощена в жизнь и в этом году. Как уже писал Даня, мы зарезервировали отели в Providence, RI и в Boston, MA.

Так как я сдала последние экзамены в четверг и была свободна аки птица, мы с Даней разработали хитроумный план избежать предпраздничные Нью-Йоркские пробки: в пятницу утром мы должны были ехать к нему на работу, вечером на поезде туда же должен был подтянуться Игнат, ну и дальше все вместе мы продолжили бы славный путь в Провиденс. Однако ввиду того что Данин босс вдвое сократил рабочий день, мы пересмотрели наш план и решили просто выехать из города как можно раньше после окончания работы. Read more…

«The West Wing»

After watching the last episode of the show I have to say that The West Wing was great. All 7 seasons of it. I’m not sure if people with no interest in politics will like it as much, but I recommend you give it a try. Watch first couple of episodes until you understand what’s going on and who’s who and then you will not be able to stop! We had days when we watched 5 episodes in a row. (1)
