The Weekend

The West Wing: Newest Addition to Our Movie CollectionWe’ve had an eventful or uneventful weekend. Nothing really happened, but it seems that we’ve managed to do a lot of stuff.

Yesterday started with Alena wanting to go to some hair salon on 86th Street to get something done to her hair and I didn’t want to drive back home, so I went to visit Ignat. We ended up watching some TV, talking about travel, technology and all other kind of stuff.

Later Alena joined us and even later we meet up with Maruks at a local sushi place — I still do hate sushi, even though everyone else seems to be in love with it. And then we all ended up at Ignat’s place again and spent the rest of the evening talking about various things and looking at the photos of Maruk and Alina’s trip to Hawaii. Then everyone wanted to go to Hawaii. )

The thing is that Ignat couldn’t really go anywhere that day because he was on call until midnight.

British Airways ConcordeToday we decided that we needed to go somewhere and do something. We drove out to Floyd Bennett Field. Took some pictures of a retired Concorde plane that’s sitting there now. Then we found a big flock of geese, took some photos of them. Alena proceeded to find another stone, to balance out her pockets — don’t ask. O.o

Abandoned Hangar at Floyd Bennett FieldAfter that we stopped by Caesar’s Bay. Alena and Ignat got some ice-cream and we decided to walk to Best Buy and see if the had any TV shows on sale. They rarely do, but when they do they deals are awesome.

To our surprise they had all seasons of The West Wing on sale! This is what we are watching with great enjoyment now on Netflix and I was planning to order them from Amazon this week. The regular price is $49.99 per season. Amazon had them for $33.49, and Best Buy had them for $19.99 per season! One hell of a deal. We ended up buying 6 out of 7 seasons — 2nd season was sold out already. So I’m quite happy about that.

In Best Buy we ran into Moisha with his dad and nephew. We stole Moisha away from them and went to an Indian restaurant in Bay Ridge. The dinner was gone and the day was over.

So like I said, it was an uneventful weekends full of events. )
