Flamenco Show

Flamenco TicketsAnother one of my little dreams came true last night — we went to see Flamenco Show! The performance that we watched was under the umbrella of 2008 New York City Flamenco Festival and presented Eva Yerbabuena and her latest creation “Wonders and Signs”.

Overall I liked the show, although some parts of it were slightly repetitive. Dance which left the greatest impression was in the beginning of the performance and can be seen on YouTube.

What I know after the show is that I really DO like Flamenco — even the specific singing which annoyed Maruks. ) The NY City Hall, where the performance took place, was packed with people. We were sitting pretty high up on the balcony, but could still see everything quite well (although, seeing her sweating on youtube video added an extra edge to my perception). The public was very enthusiastic about the show, and gave dancers, singers and musicians a standing ovation at the end.

After our Flamenco experience we (us and Maruks) went to get a dinner (and some beer) to a local place called Oldcastle Pub. The place didn’t look too fancy from the outside, but, surprisingly, served delicious food and crispy fresh beer. If you ever go to see something in NY City Center, the Oldcastle Pub is a good place to go afterwards.

What I also liked about last night is that it reminded me how great the city which we live in is! Cheers to that!

Valentine's Day BaloonI also wanted to say a couple of words about our Saint Valentine’s Day. Danya made it into something special for me — he bought me flowers and a heart-shaped baloon, we went for a dinner to a sushi place, and then we had some cake at his parent’s. I love my romantic husband very much!!! razz
