Even though my parents own the apartment already they can’t move in yet. All of us decided that it would be a good idea to get certain things done before moving in — redo the surface of the floors, replace the moldings along the walls, paint the walls non-white color and install the lighting in the form of 6 spot lights in the living room. I however added 1 more task — wiring up the apartment properly for TV and Internet so we wouldn’t have to run the wires all over the place when they can be hidden inside the walls now.

It seems that all these worries should be the “happy” worries, but now that we’re dealing with all these tasks I understand that it still is somewhat nerve-wrecking. Today we finally had the cable company come in and run the wires. Now we have to hide them properly and create wall mounts, so everything would look good. The contractors that we have do not seem to be too happy about the idea of extra work, but either way it will get done, even if I have to figure out a way to do it myself.

We don’t have too much time left before the end of the year and I’m still hopeful that my parents will meet the new one at their new home.
