As you know we stayed at Luxor during our trip to Las Vegas. This time we ended up staying at the pyramid itself since it costs less for some reason. This time it became really apparent how weird this structure really is.

To get on the top floors you have to take an “inclinator” which runs along one of the corners of the pyramid and goes up at an angle. The pyramid is mostly empty inside, but houses a lot of clubs, restaurants and other places, including an IMAX theater.

All the rooms are adjacent to the outer walls, therefore all the windows are slanted at a big angle. It’s close to impossible to get close to the window and look out of it, and it’s totally impossible to take a pictures out of the window.

The hotel itself has more then 4000 rooms and the pyramid is 350 feet high. On top of it it has the strongest and brightest light beam in the world which can be seen as far as Los Angeles from the planes. Wikipedia has a lot of interesting information about the hotel, including the fact that it used to have a river inside, which was removed for some a number of strange reasons.

Фотографии впечатлают. Думаю, вживую там тусить вообще должно дух захватывать.
До сих пор вспоминаю тот невероятный вид из окна гостиницы в Атлантик-Сити…

Да, в Атлантик-Сити нам попался хороший отель. Мы потом ездили ещё раз, остановились в другом, просто для сравнения — место оказалось хуже. В том где мы были в первый раз была куча магазинчиков, как в Лас Вегасе, в другом кроме казино ничего не было.

А сам Люксор — там между тобой и пропастью бордюр где то в метр высотой, и всё. Довольно таки страшно.

Ого, метр - это так мало… А какой-нибудь гид не рассказывал, там несчастные услучаи были или все таки все под контролем?
