Yesterday we picked up Igat’s wife Vika from the airport. This is not only her first trip to NYC, but it also is her first trip outside of ex-USSR space. I knew Vika since I was about 10 years old, but then we haven’t seen each other since we left Uzbekistan back in 1995. However we’ve been hanging out with Ignat since his arrival to New York and he turned out to be a very cool guy and a good friend.
Today we were showing Vika the best parts of our city. First we checked out our local Brooklyn shore and then we took a train to Manhattan. We started it off with a walk down the 34th Street and ended up on the very top of Empire State Building. This time the line was not more then 30 minutes (as opposed to at least 3 hours).
After that we walked up to 42nd Street and had a nice dinner and beer tasting at a local brewery. By the time we were done with dinner it was dark outside - the best time to visit Times Square, which we did. Then we spent some time in the biggest Toys “Я” Us, after which everyone was pretty tired, so we decided to go home.
All in all it turned out a fun day with good friends.

O! Thank you for leaving a comment for us! We asked Ignat 300 times, but he still never left us a single one!
I’m glad you like it here so far! This really is a great country and a beautiful magnificent city.
Hopefully next several weekends will be even more fun!

Ignat isn’t a regular commenter in my own diary either. He doesn’t like leaving comments. In our family I’m the one who does
