The first one is a Finance course with a fancy name Investment Analysis. I’ve got a young teacher, he is not too experienced, but very enthusiastic.
My second class is Fundamentals of Management. Honestly, I wasn’t looking forward to it at all, because the Operations Management course was plain boring. But I got lucky this time around – the teacher is fantastic. His name is James Walsh, he is an older guy (=experienced) and seems to know what he is talking about. He is very funny and likes to give a real life examples. He also involves us in the discussions and plays role games with us. Absolutely loved our first two classes.
The third class is Marketing Foundations. The course covers basics, so I guess we won’t go too deep into the specifics of this subject. The teacher is very nice too. She also tries to make the class as interactive as possible, so I think I’ll will be a lot of fun.
The fourth class is Econometrics. The subject itself is a little bit dry. Besides, I’ve taken statistics such a long time ago, that I hardly remember anything from the course (and this class implies that students have at least basic knowledge of statistical formulas and principles). I’ve got a young Russian teacher. I think she is very thorough and likes math.
My fifth class is Introduction to Sociology. Normally people take this course during their freshman or junior years, but of course there are always exceptions.
My last class is the Great Works of Literature I. We’ll be covering some pretty ancient texts. We’ve already started reading and analyzing the Iliad by Homer. Our teacher, Gabriel Alkon, seems to be very passionate about literature in general. I think he is a good lecturer too. I wasn’t looking forward to this class, because I know it takes a lot of energy, but I think it will be interesting and beneficial for me.
