We just got back from our first (and hopefully not last) camping trip this year. In the past 4 years we’ve been managing to do this only once per year, and every time we end up having a lot of fun.
This one got planned kind of on the fly just last Sunday. We got together, picked out a spot, and made a reservation. This time we decided to try to go to a new park, much closer to the city - Beaver Pond Campground. Total travel time to get there is about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Alena and Alina made all the shopping done on Friday, and we were ready to go at about 8am on Saturday morning. With only 5 of us going we managed to fit into a single car - Moisha’s Van.
We didn’t really have many choices for the spot on the campground itself, since everything was already reserved, but to our great surprise we ended up with the best spot in the whole park. B20 was on the very edge of everything, and the forest was our only close neighbor, which is great. Other spots were surrounded by multiple tents.
Overall we liked the campground and had a lot of fun. The only dislike for all of us was the fact that being so close to the city it tends to have a lot of city noise - a lot of people, boom-boxes and so on. However it did have a lake, volleyball playing fields, and very quite forest all around, which Alena and me took advantage of several times.
The weather was great (a big change from ALL of our previous camping trips) and it was a pleasure not having to deal with stupid rain making everything wet, leaking into the tent and all kinds of unpleasant stuff. It was one of the worst things for me last trip.
Maruk was THE cook on the trip. He kept us well (some say a little too well) fed throughout our 2 day stay there with some amazing shishkebabs and various other things.
My personal favorite parts were the walks up to the hills with Alena, then our walks to the beach in the middle of the night under a starry sky (which always brings up a lot of good memories for me), and of course having a good time with friends. The only things that could’ve made it better would be the presence of Eldar and Lenchik, but these days things aren’t as easy as they used to be when all of us were a little bit younger.
P.S. We uploaded all the pictures from the trip to Picasa.

I really enjoyed our little getaway too. The sun was shiny, the air smelled like good memories, the fire was enigmatic and warming, the friends were… friendly!, the stars were bright, the kebab was delicious, the forest was wise and quiet, the beer was refreshing, the husband was loving! So good to be young!

the trip was awsome, really got lucky with the weather, kind of makes you think how much more fun the last 2 would have been had the weather been nicer. Well i guees we have to go on many more to find out
Looking forward to going on more trips, hopefully at least one more this year.

Классные фотки, классный отдых. А у нас уже очень холодно и дождливо
